Opt-outs
Include opt-out path to customers who want to unsubscribe from your messages
When a recipient unsubscribes from your messages, their contact numbers will be immediately added to an opt-out list. The customers in the opted-out list will no longer be able to receive any messages from your business.
Your campaign message should include an opt-out keyword such as "Reply STOP to unsubscribe". Once the customer replies with the keyword, the business should send a confirmation message that they will not receive any more messages.
Managing opt-outs
- Automatic Opt-Outs: If a contact sends or responds to a sent message with an opt-out keyword, e.g., 'STOP' to your phone number or your WhatsApp number. That contact is automatically added to the opt-out list. The customers in this list will no longer be able to receive any messages from your business.
- Manual Opt-outs - If a contact opts out via an alternative channel (e.g., email, phone number, or website), it's essential to manually add them to the opt-out list. Additionally, ensure that opted-out contacts are removed from your databases to prevent their information from being included in future uploads.
Supported keywords for opt-outs
- All Numbers purchased through Interact support "STOP" and "UNSUBSCRIBE" by default. Any number responding to an Interact number with STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE will automatically be added to the account's opt-out list.
- Customers can also add additional keywords (such as END, CANCEL, etc.) to help customers unsubscribe from unwanted SMS messages in the opt-out section of the Manage Number page.
Here's how you can manage opt-outs in Webex Interact:
- Sender/Profile Mapping: In Webex Interact, you can choose the number/profile to which the opt-outs should be applied. This mapping ensures that the specified sender numbers/WhatsApp profiles do not send messages to the contacts in the opt-out list.
- Opt-out keywords: The keywords STOP and UNSUBSCRIBE are supported by default for all NUMBERS purchased on Webex Interact so that any number that replies to the Interact Number with the keywords "STOP" or "UNSUBSCRIBE" is automatically added to the opt-out list for the account that holds the Interact Number.
- Additional Keywords: To assist users in opting out of any unwanted SMS, Interact customers can manually add additional keywords to the "Manage Number" page under the opt-out section such as END, CANCEL, and so on.
