Interact offers additional capabilities that allow you to personalize your messages to suit your business needs. You can add dynamic content to your messages using merge fields, or add attachments or web URLs as short links. In this article, you will learn how to use these tools to improve your SMS campaigns:

Merge fields

Merge fields allow you to personalise your messages, to give them more impact. Merge fields refer to the additional information fields you can upload while creating lists like customer's first name, last name, email address etc. When you use these merge fields in your campaign, each merge field will be replaced with its corresponding value from contacts. For example, a message with merge fields could look something like this:

Hi $(firstname), Happy birthday! Get 25% off on all our products today with this coupon code: $(couponcode).

  • Merge fields can only be used when you have uploaded contact details with additional information into a list.
  • Merge fields cannot be changed or replaced in the message.
  • Upload Attachments

Webex Interact allows you to upload šŸ“Ždocuments, images, videos, or excel files. Once the file upload is complete, the attachment will appear as a link in your message. The attached files can be accessed and downloaded directly from the message.

  • Insert Shortlinks

Webex Interact gives you the ability to add short linksšŸ”— to your message. These links are a shortened version of a web link and allow you to share URLs with the benefit of using fewer characters. Track engagement with your links and gain valuable insights such as who opened the link, when, and on what device.

Enter the URL and the related tags associated with the link. This helps you to categorize and organize your links. Click "Insert" and you will get a shortened URL to share in your message. Whenever someone clicks the link, the tracking data will be available in the reports.

Track user clicks

Enable Track user clicks to measure the effectiveness of your SMS campaign by tracking the URL clicks of your customers. Once you've enabled tracking, send the message to your customers. As customers receive and interact with the message, you can track updates on the URLs or shortlinks on the Campaign Reports page.

  • Include Opt-out message

Including an opt-out message is important because it gives the customer the opportunity to make a decision as to whether or not they would like to receive messages from your business.

Whenever you send an SMS message, make sure to include an opt-out message. Customers can "unsubscribe" with an opt-out option, which is a line at the end of the message content. This allows customers to stop receiving messages from your business.
