API authentication

Set up an API Key and integrate with your systems

To send SMS through the Webex Interact API generate a unique and secure API key. Set up as many keys as you need for your integration(s). Create, edit and access your API keys from the Developers page and start sending using our API Documentation.

Project Name - Add a name to define the purpose and objective of your API project.

API Scope - Currently, you can only apply permissions for required project access through the SMS channel. However, in the future, you will have the option to apply permissions for project access on a per-channel basis.

Add IP Address - Specify the IP addresses to add to the permit list for this project. You can include a single IP (123.123.1.1) and IP range (196.168.1/255), or both.

If the API key is not recognized or invalid, you will receive an error message to help you troubleshoot the issue and successfully authenticate your request.

The API key will be generated after the API project creation. You can use the API key to send SMS via API. You must authenticate each HTTP request that you send to the Interact API endpoint using the valid API key.

Following these steps, you can securely set up API authentication, ensuring smooth communication between your systems and the Webex Interact API for SMS messaging.
